Hmmm. Hard one Ferrero. I feel for you right now.

What's coming to mind is a thread that Mal started some time back about dogs in the tropics. I think he was referring to Husky's and Malamutes and dogs with those types of coats. Now that would be intersting for you to look at.

I am under the impression that the Newfie can be quite a lazy dog compared to many other breeds, and is quite happy just wandering around inside with it's owner for a majority of the day.

I wonder what Newfienuts opinion on this may be, as she actually HAS George, and has done so for nearly 2 years, with hands-on experience.
Another hard point is that the breeder is not happy to see a Newfie in that type of climate, so unfortunately that carries a lot of eight also.

I'm from Qld, and the heat is a killer. I couldn't survive on the Fraser Coast, little own Cairns where it swelters.

    Oh dear, Ferrero.

I'll search for that thread now.

When my aunty lived in Malanda (Cairns) she had a malamute. The weather didn't seem to bother him.

It's not impossible to have a newfie in Cairns, it will just be hard to find a breeder that is willing to sell a pup to someone there.

    Guess I'll keep plugging along.

    I WILL GET MY FERRERO!

Yep it's cute that last one. Thanks Hippo.

The bigger pup is just over 12 weeks old. Wow. Big!

All up they now have 7 or 8 dogs with Clancy, the young pup in one of the photos.

To my knowledge they only breed once a year, hence my commenting previously that I was really was in the right place at the right time!

They do Newfoundland rescue around this area of Tasmania, if needed. They also take the dogs to schools and shows everywhere down here for cart rides and also for elderly therapy. They seem to be such down to earth and extremely decent people. I really did feel so very comfortable with them.

I think 2 of their dogs are Australian Champions? Would have to check to confirm, but I think so.

I want to know where they get those cut little silver bowls from!
