Thread: I Didnt Bite My Tounge.

Default I Didnt Bite My Tounge.

I forgot to bite mine over a family dinner the other night - oops...sister in law was telling me she started looking for a dog and she has always wanted a "kleenex puppy" long story short....I opened my big trap - and suggested maybe she look at adopting a lab from the lab rescue group in Sydney as they are mature and still need a home etc etc....plus as a young couple with no kids they will be out at work for long hours....Needless to say my opinion was not valued.

That's not good Jessie. This is your SIL, not a complete stranger etc. Yet she didn't want to even listen to your opinion on the matter. That's sad, but at least she's only your sister by marriage. Lol.

Problem as I see it, she wants to buy a "Kleenex puppy", NOT a Labrador Retriever?

LOL I know she is a funny girl...I thought she meant a shar pei, but no a Labrador! Im not a dog expert but I do know a bit about different breeds. Being dragged through dog shows for so many years taught me a thing or two!!!

Jeez, I hope she understands that the little cute puppy on the tv ad actually grew up into a Labrador? Lol, if she doesn't!!!

grrr.. that annoys me people who do the whole "cute Lab puppy" thing.. there was a black lab at our local rspca who had been surrended, the reason given "the dog grew too big" seriously... how can anyone get a Lab and not have any idea how big its going to grow!!!
Good on you for saying something.. lets hope you never have to say I told you so to her!!

    Hi Jessie

    Yep, been there...with friends.
The result was that they did buy the cute, white, fluffy puppy from a pet shop. Within weeks it was living outside 24/7, no training, walking or socialisation. Now they say that they just can't bond with the dog and that it's stupid. I tried again and offered to take the dog (1yo now) no success there either...
Sometimes all you can do is try, so well done for trying Jessie

I wonder if making SIL or at least your brother? watch "Marley and me" might help.
