Default I Have Joined a Rescue.

I have put this here not off topic as it does concern dogs.

For the last 6 years or so I have happily dumped all the charity work, organisations I was in, except for one and have been quite happy just being home. Burnout I guess from being with so many and as we all probably know there are really only a few in any organisation that actually work.

I have been looking for something and have joined the regional pound rescue, RADAR.

I am old enough too to know what I will and will not do. I will not be a carer..nor will I be sucked into that as much as my heart may want to at times, but I will be happy to transport, fundraise, do PR. I told them I will be ready to commit when pups are weaned but got as SOS for today to help with a leg of a run which I can not do, but can tomorrow.

This is just an I am pleased to have found an interest for myself again when nothing much has appealed to me post.

I am also very well aware of Quarantine methods and will be, as I do for my birds when I have been in a pet shop or handling others...full shower/hair wash and change of clothing, hand sanitising before there is any contact with mine.

Actually, after writing all that, I am not going to start until Pretty and pups are fully vaccinated. I think possible risk is just too great. A'int it good to write stuff down at times to think clearly, lol. I will attend meetings and do what I can that does not involve dog contact till then.

    Hi Di Dee

I think there is a dedicated Cattle dog rescue was well.

RADAR hmm. That was the name of one of the cattle dogs I used to share a home with - he looked like a boy version of Pretty. And he was from "the pound", I don't know which one.

I bet there is. I am just happy to do my bit of volunteer self funded transport when I want to and doing behind the scenes stuff. Any excuse to do a run to Sydney to see grandies or Melbourne to see friends is a good one, lol.
