    DD - Dear Daughter
    DS - Dear Son - often used in context of describing some major act of (accidental) destruction.

    DH - Dear Hubby.

    These are popular on family, relationship, and parenting web sites.

    And for doggy jargon decoding...

    But there are probably more and some things go through what I call "Jargon shifts"
    eg laptops are now known as notebooks...
    ADP became EDP became CS became IT became IT&T and ICT - I give up trying to keep up with some of these.

    ah thanks for all that, I still look at some thread's and scratch my head with wonder at what people are saying. But that is most helpful.
