DA, they were active when feeding on her. I will not be getting much sleep tonight.

SSW's comments: yes, is pretty ok. She's not as engorged, but can you check that she has milk? It is there and exiting ok?

Mouths closed, they were asleep and I skinfolded test again, all protested, squirmed around and one yipped at me

Milk is there, checked when I saw her engorged about 5pm. she was leaking milk too when with them just now, no signs of mastitis. Pretty is active, fine and eating well

    Have you checked Pretty Di???

Sounds like the pups were 'fading' quickly, and you have done well!

ok, just saw your answer as I posted, sorry.

Keep the fluids going, once they have finished feeding from Mum, keep close eye on them all. It is possible she could have lay on them or positioned herself in a way that there wasn't enough air-flow.

It is also possible it is 'fading puppy syndrome', which is just another way for the vet to say it could be bloody anything.

If you want a definitive answer as to why they died (perhaps a genetic disorder?), can you see if you can get a necropsy done at your vet? I know it's not a nice thought, but if it can help you keep the other pups going strong?
