Thread: My Very Sad News...

Take it one step at a time DA. Deal with today & then just breathe. It's way too soon to make any decisions about the future. When Zena died, I swore I'd never get another dog because it was just so painful losing her ... oh look .... Tara & Spirit are now living with me.

    Thanks GSD's and everyone else.

I have never been in this postion in my lifetime, so I just feel so out of whack.

You are all correct, as usual. I'll take some time to deal with this in my own way, then I will re-look at the situation and decide from there.

    Many thanks to all.

So sorry that things have not worked out. Sounds as though you've done all you could do

I'm so sorry DA, this must be a terrible time for you. You've tried everything possible. Hopefully you will be able to clear your mind over the next few days/weeks

The breeder just phoned again to kindly confirm for me the approx. time the dog transport company is expected to arrive here today, and she could actually hear him going off because I was speaking on the phone. So I guess it's good that she heard him!

I think it is great the Breeder is dealing with this in a very responsible way...that is more than you can say about Odin's breeder when we phoned them

That is sooo sad, Cleasanta. I'm sorry.
At a time like this, you need the breeder to step back in and assist, don't you?
We have only had him for a very short time, a totally new addition, so I'm lucky that this behaviour manifested itself immediately, and not later down the track when it would have been even more shocking and heartbreaking to deal with.

All dogs are different, and all dogs, no matter what the breed, end up with their own personalities. I've just been lucky I guess, as I've never encountered such unacceptable behaviour before, or such a territorial attitude.

Of course you do! Instead they made it quite clear that it was our fault Odin had turned out that way. We had seen dog behaviourists and were told he was a lost cause. The breeder said...then just put him down then and I said...I can for the life of me not do it. It was breeder's turn to step up to the plate and realise their breeding hadn't been "successful". They came and got him the same day and promised to let me know what had happened...I am still waiting to hear from them. I sent several emails, but nothing back. I don't know if he is dead or alive. So...if anybody ever asks me about Rottweilers and breeders in my area...I don't have much good to say about them.

I agree...it's great to hear the breeder is helping in everyway possible.
I bought a PB burmese kitten from a breeder...when the cat turned out to be child agressive...I called her for some advise, and she didn't give a crap!!!!
