The Big Day Out for Dogs will be held on Sunday, 13 December 2009 at KCC Park. The purpose of this event is to showcase all things dog.

There are four major components to the Big Day Out: breed stalls, dog discipline demonstrations, fun competitions and the canine Christmas market.

The general public is invited to attend this event free of charge.

Run by DOGS Victoria

SHAR PEI Rescue Victoria will be there with pei in tow! Should be a great day.

If I still lived in Vic I would be there as well.

Have fun everyone and shed a tear for those who can't make it.

Sadly the dog world is pretty dead in Cairns.

Does anyone remember when they first built KCC park? Went to a few shows there before "the walls" were up. One particular day it was wet and very windy and without the walls we were inside a huge wind tunnel. Trollies, crates, even small dogs were blown all over the place at one stage. Fortunately I had the husband to hold onto the trolley so our dogs were OK but a couple of little poms in a play pen were blown through the air. I don't think there were any injuries but lots of bowls, brushes, leads etc were never seen again.

I will go with Doof if we are up there at the time - lots of rescue groups are setting up stalls. I might help out with Husky rescue if they want lol.

KCC is easy to get to - if I do go - I am happy to give a couple of people a life - I have a wagon so there is oodles of room. It would have to be people in Melbourne though as I dont plan on driving back til the next day lol
