The dog has shown alarming aggression in the past ,eventualy leading upto biting a child on the face.
According to the OP previous posts the dog had already bit people before.
Yes, and there must be a reason for it. It's not just black and white Choppa. Animals have feelings, fears and all the rest. You can't expect them to just be cute fluffy things that smile and wag tails if there's something wrong, and if they perceieve something's wrong.

Fedra dont bloody well yell at me!

So it can get help?? For christ sake listen to yourself.
The dog has displayed frightening aggression for some time.
The dog has now bitten her 18 month old child on the face! What if it hadn't barely missed her eye?

I sincerely hope I and none of my friends or family ever take on a dog that you and some of the others here might rehome.

The time for help was months ago,now its too late.

No one is pointing the finger!

The dog is not being assesed by a behaviourist at this stage, It is going to the vet to be desexed!!

I have given my view and that is all i can do. Shit no wonder i hardly ever look at this forum anymore. Too many bleeding hearts who have no idea what so ever and take no responsibility.

You are playing with fire OP. It will most certainly not affect my life or my own children. I would not ever allow my kids or an adored family pet to be put in such a hideous position.

    LOL!!!

There is a fair bit more going on here than that!!!

Fedra have you read the background??!

A child also deserves to be safe and content in their home environment, why have we not heard about the child?

    Pugger seriously.
I have no idea who's tree you're barking up but dont start this crap with me.I have no time anymore for little internet power trips and childish games.

This thread is about a dog that has bit a child.
    End of story.
There is no 'right or wrong'
The responsible thing to do now is to remove dog from household so there is absolutely no chance of it happening again and as rehoming is most certainly not an option it is then PTS.

I asked earlier in the thread but no-one answered me , what if this was my dog ?

I'm astounded at the attitude on this forum!
Yes, I'm new, and only found this site a couple of days ago. Unfortunately for me at this point I'm not sure if that was a good thing or not.

Reading through threads, it seems to me that too often the thread ends up as some sort of crap-fight where posters are slogging it out with each other. If I walk away from the computer because I don't feel good at what I'm reading, well...that tells me I shouldn't be here. Life can get crappy enough without encountering it here.

It would have to take a hell of a lot for me to get to the stage where I was blatently rude, obnoxious, unthoughtful or inconsiderate of other peoples feelings and opinions. I'm also certain that not one poster here would speak to each other the way I have seen done here if they were all gathered together in a room. Sure it's a forum, but I'm dumbfounded at why that should make a difference?
I've seen opinions on here that honestly astound me, but so what, just cause I don't agree doesn't mean I have to battle it out with anyone FGS!!! It would be great to see the other person's point of view while still giving your own without being put on the defensive or 'shot down' all the time. If this is communication then no wonder the world is such a bloody mess.

In this scenario, my personal opinion has been stated to the OP. I would opt for euthanasia, no doubts about that whatsoever. Many here do not agree with that, and that's fine. As I said previously, it is now up to the OP to make the decision that she (and her family) are comfortable with. Who knows what the final outcome will be???

But why does everyone need to fight about it and why should the OP feel offended or upset when she has come here for guidance? Jeez, she's already going through hell IMO, she doesn't need more shit surely!

Yes I have in fact. I know child deserves to be safe and all that's why my voice goes to 1. assessment and evaluation and 2. rehoming to an experienced owner.

I seriously do believe that a solution for this problem exists as well as a good possibility to fix it. Unless there's an incurable health issue.

Choppa, I was not yelling at you, just emphasizing the point, ok?

Tell me Choppa, if for whatever reason your dog bit your kid and for instance, you haven't been around to see what's happened, you'd go and PTS your dog? I know I wouldn't, and I own a 40 kg rottweiler. I'd be pissed off, angry, mad, whatever, but I wouldn't just go and kill my dog without trying to find out what happened and why.

    Actualy Fedra,yes I would.
    My dog bit a child.
    My dog gets PTS.

I'm not going to keep going with this back and forth, the OP needs to decide which is more important, dog or child.

    Hi Billy and Choppa.

If it was my dog, whether it broke my heart or not I know what decision I would have to make.

Cowgirl, best of luck with your decisions, I hope your little girl is feeling better.
