It's just meant to be a feel good ad.

I get it, I like chocolate it does make me feel good, watching the add makes me feel good. I could pick apart the Ford ad with the GSD in the front seat blocking the drivers view to the left, but I also realise that it's an add.

Oh and I asked my 79yo mother if she felt inclined to feed her Chi chocolate and she said no.

Can you please tell me which dog was yours?

Default dogs in car cadbury ad

Gordon Setter. She had a great day, lots of attention.

There was a vet on hand.

Caught up with a few of her old doggy mates.

All dogs wore a harness, so did I for that matter and as much as they wanted the harness to be seen on her it was black, so was she and I wasn't cutting her beautiful coat for anyone.

    Tah mouseandchicken.

I didn't notice the harness on any dog that wasn't black either.

Di Dee1 - if you want to see the ad - find a fast internet connection, and click on the first link in the first post. Alternately I think they're showing it in prime time, ie during the news or the program immediately after. I first saw it on the weekend - because I'd recorded one of these programs.

Damn, I do over react about these things but people can be insanely stupid (Just listen to the Libs about the refugees arriving by boat - but I digress). It's a tricky balance between making Darwin Awards harder to get, and living in a Nanny state.

    Default Cadbury ad

I have been a volunteer instructor, involved in rescue, bred, shown and trialled dogs for 20 years now. Last year I completed my Cert III in dog behaviour & training and had the most wonderful opportunity to work at Steve & Vicki Austin's Boarding and Training Kennels. I think it was this experience that ultimately gave me the confidence to go out on my own and I now earn a living as a Dog Trainer.
Steve Austin was the wrangler on this ad but years ago my Kelpies were used on the movie Oscar and Lucinda staring Cate Blanchett so basically I think it has been well behaved well socialised dogs that has gotten me the odd job (and being in the right place at the right time) here and there because my dogs have for one reason or another always been dark coloured which doesn't show up well on film.
It was a great experience expertly handled and what you see on film and what went on behind the scenes is entirely different. At all times the dogs safety, ours and the crews was paramount. I mean the car was on a trailer going at a relatively slow speed with a mounted fan blowing in their face. I know that there are idiots that own dogs, heck I train lots of these idiots but if there is one thing I've learnt that sometimes no matter how hard you try you will only ever educate or change those that have any common sense to begin with.

Now I'll hop off my soap box. It's time to feed the gang.

    Hi Mouseandchicken

I appreciate the info. I am prone to overreacting at things like these. And you're probably right about only educating those with common sense to begin with. That's a good way of thinking about it.

My dad's way was evil - He'd say something statistically accurate by definition (of the words) but PC incorrect "50% of people are below median intelligence".

Actually he'd say below "average" intelligence but that's only correct if "intelligence" has a "normal" distribution. And given it's hard to measure accurately - I don't think we know if it's "normal" distribution or not.

And then what kind of intelligence do we mean? Emotional? Puzzle solving? Mathematical? Musical? Empathatic? Scientific/Logical? Social? ...
