One lot of bedding on the line, another lot to go and fresh stuff on there. She had another still born I am gonna have a few drinks. FIL will be told I have earned her after tonight.

Gawd, where are my manners....THANK YOU everyone so very much. I really really felt the support here.

Hubby is in the spare room, son will be in his and I will be in with them all, music to my ears.

Pretty does not seem exhausted, fussing over them.

Have been offering water throughout the night, food is in there as well.

She has wanted me in there with her, no problems at all moving pups to a padded basket to change her bedding, just an initial whine then ...oh, ok.

OMG! This is fantastic. You both must be exhausted. Congratulations on 6 beautiful pups. It will be so great to watch them grow up. Lots of photos as they grow pleeeeeze. And thank you for being so prompt with the uploading of that photo. You must be so organised.

Thank you everyone. Dad is also a blue heeler x.
I was watching her yesterday and early evening very closely for waters breaking, any signs of labour. 6pm hubby comes home, she goes outside and follows him pottering around a bit. Back inside, about 7pm I asked her "aren't you getting over all this waiting? I AM" and whammo, I saw a contraction and a push. I yelled for jase that she was starting and went up the hall to get a drink of water. You can see her from the kitchen, down the hall to our room and there she was hooking. I made it just in time to see the first emerge. She gave me a look of astonishment then went to work. The others were then born lying down after a few pushes. A few were born feet first and we were ready to help out but pfft, piece of cake to her and they were born as easily as the others. Not all seemed to be encased in sacs. I got a surprise with the last still born as I thought she had finished. A bit later more contractions and she expelled what looked like placenta. She was bright and chipper.

I kept an eye on her reading in bed till 3am then told her that I had been a mother 29 years and for humans it never stops and she only had to a few months. I put earplugs in and slept quite well, waking to check when pups's mewling penetrated now and then but she settled them quickly. All the right instincts are in place.

9am hubby went by on the road with cattle and yapping dogs. She came to the door yelping and whinging and wanting to go with them.
Of course I didn't let her out and I started walking back to the pups, she followed and immediately settled with them.

Bloody vet and his "I see 2 large pups but there might be more hiding". Told ya I recon it was a mock one running a video loop of an ultrasound
