I feel and see puppy movement.
The vet told me I would 1-3 days before whelping. It has been a week now since the ultrasound.
I woke to an odd yelping whinging noise from her, but all it was was hubby going off in the ute without her and her protesting at the front door. He still takes her when he is not doing anything with the cattle or fencing so she can go to the other farm and lie in the sun with the other dogs in the mornings then back she comes mid morning to stay for the day after having her "fix" It is lovely seeing him gently lift her in, groaning at her weight

Like any new to be grandmother (been there too) I am really looking forward to all this. Hubby was sitting here at lunch time. He suddenly says...some gates around the box will keep her in there if she does not want to be. I told him her instincts will keep her in with them but off he trots, home a bit later with star posts and gates and the new pen area is almost up and running. He then said that it would be a good idea later to widen the area when the pups are out and about. I had already thought of fencing in the double carport area lol)

    NOTICE HE SAID PUPS! PLURAL!

Gate spacings will be be too wide and he has stuff ready to fix all that too that he can lay his hands on in a hurry, but we have a few weeks for that one.

We have put her in there, while he is off getting more stuff. She is happily in there with her bed, the cat, a bone and a pair of his old worn work trousers she has had her head on in our room that he doesn't want. Been out there with her as well as inside and not a peep so I think she is happy. I just get a tail thumping, head lifting hello and back she lies again.

No signs of labour as yet.

Fom literally being thrown in the deep end nearly 2 weeks ago it is so wonderful having the support here in a situation that even I do not agree with.

Any suggestions to improve the area? We will be hanging some shade cloth as hot late afternoon sun gets end of the dog box. Lovely morning sun till about 11am is on the front area of pen.

I do realise the plastic container for water will go later, very shallow dishes but by that stage she will be able to jump the front of fence or we let her through. The tin container between box and house is a fly trap. they are really attracted to her in there and us if we venture outside. It is only full of runny cow poo so no chemicals to flow to them. Hope it works, lol.

Sun wise, the pics were taken about 4pm so it comes forward more than that.

As there is an outside power point, I think a bar fridge for Nana would not go amis, hahahaha.

I will leave her to herself when whelping, checking in on her though. She may though want me there or she may hunt me away lol.

There is the garden shed in the background as mentioned before but it does get too hot in there to my mind. My intention is to whelp her inside. Hubby has already been told he will be relocated to the spare room, lol.

Good idea, Chop, easy peasy. will get it done tomorrow. Thanks.

I wish I had clicked the second shot a few secs later. He reached up, both paws around her neck then shot 3, walking away lol.

I just realised hubby is away all day tomorrow in Wagga with his father and his op.
I got 4 bits of wood and took them there only to find it IS off the ground about an inch already, it just mustn't show in the pics, I didn't realise either. Besides, I can't even lift the corner, that thing is SOLID!

Now that I look again at the pics the gap does show. It is raised along each side of it. Could have saved myself a hernia lmao.

A gratuitous post just to suck in the cyber aunts and any uncles who are waiting with me and nothing is happening yet. Share my frustrated anticipation.
