    Default Abusive Email

Recently I purchased a dogue de bordeaux pup from a very reputable breeder and I am extremely happy. He is show quality which is what I wanted too as I want to show in the future.

I'd spent months researching the breed and looking for breeders. Living in Qld I wanted a Qld breeder for obvious reasons but was considering all advertised pups even one lot from Melbourne.

My first port of call was to email breeders who had pups advertised (I looked at Dogzonline) to ask if they still had pups available so as to not waste my time or theirs. I understand that people get alot of emails from tyre kickers and photo collectors but I had hoped that my detailed emails would show that I was neither of those.

One breeder I had contact with wasn't home at the time and one of his relatives telephoned me, after the conversation, the relative emailed me several photographs which took a week. In the interim I emailed again (phone was mobile and didn't answer) to enquire as to the photographs and to let them know I was serious.

After I got the photographs I was contacted by a Queensland breeder who had a pup which the deposit fell through on. Which meant that I could go and look and see the dog personally.

As it turned out I purchased the Queensland dog as it was the best one of the lot, show quality and I saw the sire, dam and the grand parentage as well.

I emailed all the breeders who had gotten back to me and thanked them for their time and effort and photographs and told them that I had now found a pup.

This morning I got an extremely abusive email from the breeder he was replying to the email I sent through "before" I got the photographs. He replied by saying to me Not likely, wasting my time bitch F**k the hell off.

    Why?

I will supply the name of this breeder to anyone who PM's me.

Well, that is disgusting. At least you took the time to let the breeders know you had a puppy. That is not the way I would expect good breeders to behave.
The more people I meet, the more I like my dogs.

I would report the matter to DOL. They may have had complaints from others and hopefully the person may be banned.

It sounds like the abusive emailer was very anxious for a sale. Usually a sure sign the pup is not up to standard.

It sounds like you have found exactly what you were looking for in the Qld pup so I would just put it down to experience and forget about it.

Good luck with your new pup.

Thank your lucky stars Cowgirl! Glad you found out their true colours now BEFORE you bought a dog from them!

    How awful.

I would be counting my lucky stars that I never purchased the pup through them.

Thanks for the replies, it was a bit shocking to open up the emails this morning and see it to tell you the truth and yes I am glad I didn't buy the dog from this person. It was also quite disappointing really considering this person is advertising and asking good money for pups with that type of service.

    Hi Cowgirl

On the optimistic side, maybe this person had some bad experiences and a misunderstanding of what you wanted or thought your email was from someone else.

Or maybe they forgot to take their mental health medication.

They don't know you and you don't know them so it's not something worth taking personally. Reporting them in a calm factual way (write the email and leave it sit for 24 hours and then write it again) to the breeders club may be helpful or it may get you another similar toxic email.
