Default You Know What Really Irks Me..

People who rehome their animals because they are lazy and then have the hide to make me out to be the bad person when I tell them they suck.

    Sheesh.

Sometimes I just wish it were me and my dogs.

Or when cute puppy behaviour becomes not so cute when the dog grows up and its too hard to do any proper training and the kids arnt interested in a big dog anymore so its easier to leave them at a shelter..

Far better to rehome a dog than keep it and neglect it.

Better to rehome a dog than dump it in the bush or simply leave the gate open and hope it will wander off and never return.

Some people have genuine reasons for rehoming their dogs. It's always best to know the facts before making a judgement.

Deerhound, you're right. The thing I objected to was the personal attacks against me.

    I agree Dreaming of love.
I feel for people who have no choice but rehome their pets, but I think that the majority are like you said 'lazy'...Lately I've seen lots of couples that have just had a baby and decide to get rid of their dogs. I do give them credit for rehoming and not dumping the dog but is it really so hard to understand that a dog is a long term commitment? I have seen it so many times, even know someone who left the roller door open over night so their dog escapes. The dog was hit head on and died. Not long after they got a maltesex pup from a pet shop as their toddler wouldn't leave the shop without it. After a few weeks they decided to keep it outside 24/7 as it's 'dumb', they thought it would have been toilet trained. I tried to help. Gave all sorts of info on puppy school in their area, training tips, websites etc.-I ended up being the 'bad guy'. Brings me to tears.

    Thanks Loren

With some people it's like talking to a brick wall...I even offered to take the pup, but no! he'll be fine! Yeah, right.
