I shouldn't have opened that link. I have tears streaming down my face. I am going now to give my "girls" an extra cuddle, tell them that I love them & that they're never going to leave my side until they decide they need to go to Rainbow Bridge & be with Zena.

Ask a Border Collie to jump and it'd say, "how high?", ask a Kelpie and he'll ask, "why?"

Spose it's not as bad as something I discovered the other day when me and my work were cleaning the bush. People disgust me at most times. I just hope animals don't label me as human.

    So heartbreaking.

I had that horrible sinking feeling in my stomach reading that. I think Sam and Sass need an extra hug today. And some extra love time.

    Thanks Hippo.

This is something everyone should read. This is why Jim has made it so freely available with no copyrite, provided his name is used. Sadly it still often appears online as author unknown.

Jim Willis has devoted his whole life to animal welfare. His book is a must read.

Pieces of My Heart, a new book by Jim Willis

A few years ago I emailed Jim asking for permission to use his poem "I Loved You Best" in a tribute to a friend's Deerhound for the club's newsletter. Jim gave permission and then asked for my friend's email address. He sent Helen the most beautiful sympathy message on the loss of her dog. He is a wonderful man with great compassion for people as well as animals.
