Fila Brasaliero (spelling?) are a very protective mastiff breed, probably not really suitable but I like them and I just found some for sale, maybe when the boys are older and I have my own house with a dog pen, but can't have one now. They look like a mastiff cross bloodhound.

Kangal = anatolian shepard, well some sources say they are the same which they pretty much are but they're just from different regions, and are large, also highly protective shepard type dogs, they are classed as mastiff but look nothing like the cliched mastiff.

I've been walking my dog at this off-leash area twice a day now for 2-3 months. I reckon I've met pretty much every breed there is. Well, probably not, but lots anyway.

I marvel when I watch the whippets accelerate (pure beauty!), I laugh when the labs come begging for treats, I can't resist the beagle's sweet face, I'll make a detour to go pat the gentle giant wolfhound, love those big shepherd noses, and always enjoy seeing that kelpie stalk. It's fabulous to have that diversity and I love them all for who they are.

St Bernards have always fasinated me since i was a little tacker. That Brandy Barrell in cartoons was way cool. I've only ever met one and watching him crunch a chicken leg with 2 chews and then swallow it was awsome.

I can,t go past the very rare and endangered working breeds like Australia,s very first pure breed of dog the Staghound. I also have a soft spot for rare working breeds of terriers like the Jack Russell Terrier and the Patterdale or Fell Terrier.

My fav's are chiwowa's, great cuddly little things so smarts, but i think they need the right owners as there behaviours can get a bit werid.

My all time fav would have to be Boston Terrier, too bad they cost so much!

My vote is all the way for the Australian Cattle Dog or known as the ACD.
No matter the colour as I have now had both colours.

A distant 2nd is the Bullmastiff and then I have had a soft spot on the Bull Terrier.
We had a cross breed who was more Bull Terrier and he was a great dog.
