In order keep my flow of posts going - I have grown up with boxers, a bull mastiff, a APBT and a mini dachshund and several bitzas. My favourite breed (type?) however would have to be the bull breeds and I love dogue de bordeoux' (sp?)

    I love most terriers

If I had to pick, probably a Scotty or a Westie. I also have a soft spot for Dachsies, probably because they're very terrier-like even if they are classified as hounds.

For me, I'm going to say the Irish Wolfhound.

Though I own Dobes now (and owned Dobes before, too), the one wolfhound I owned moved the breed up to the pinnacle for me.

Why not own more? The devastation of losing my boy at age 6 to bone cancer was and still is too heavy to consider having another.

Don't get me wrong, I love my Dobes to bits, but my wolfie was my soul dog.

I like Newfoundland, a big hairy mound thats as loyal & peaceful as anything and
Basenji, They originated in Africa as a hunting dog. The people would tie bells around them to be able to track their movements once they had got the prey. The reason for the bells is because it is a barkless breed of dog.
