I'm pretty disappointed in you Hyacinth. Firstly you quote me out of context suggesting I said that there was a guaranteed way to ensure a dog wouldn't suffer from skin issues and then you go on to essentially label me a troll. I guess it's for others to decide whether I'm a troll or not but I would have thought my contributions to the forum overall would have left me out of that category?
Going back and looking at my post - I can see how you thought that, tho it's not what I wrote. At least you're calling me out on that and not having a big hissy fit and quitting. Which is what I wish the OP had done better.

Trust me - if I thought *you* mmj were a troll - you'd be banned and most of your posts would magically disappear. There wouldn't be much of a discussion. I actually think you're a lot like me in our preferred conversation style - ie very direct. Sometimes at the expense of peoples feelings but not usually the intention.

What I was hoping to suggest was that people respond - as you have - and don't just run away as soon as anyone else posts something they don't like.

The best way to deal with trolls here, is to report them. (click on the little black triangle at the bottom of the post you don't like).

If I'm not sure if someone is a troll - I tend to take whatever they wrote as literally as possible and ask questions that the answers will make clear one way or the other. Sometimes it takes a while for me to decide.

Here - I asked OP questions - and didn't get answers... interesting. but OP doesn't meet the criteria as OP has not persisted.

I am discussing trolls here - because we don't actually have one active in the thread as best I can tell. It's actually not helpful to discuss appropriate response to trolls in the thread you think is being trolled... because that feeds the troll if it is and pisses off a potentially valuable forum contributor if it wasn't.

    Hi Dogman

It didn't look like any of those on the slide show.

It had raised lumps with fur on - about the size of a five cent piece (if the dog was roughly SBT size, bigger if it is mastiff size). And then there were five cent sized gaps of pink skin in the fur and kind of spotting of that lumps and pink spots all down the dog's side.

Hence me thinking it might be mozzie bites, but I couldn't figure out hard lumps that fall off leaving the pink bits... pretty much all circular.

I suppose it doesn't matter now as I don't think the OP will be back...my advice would be to take the dog to the vet and I'm sure many others would say the same...I doubt a vet would be able to tell from a picture on the net either.

OP came here because the vet didn't know what the problem was...

And the dog was on antibiotics and steroids... and not getting better (is my guess - cos we didn't get an update).

So I figured probably wasn't a bacteria. But could have been a fungus - tho you think a skin scraping would have been done...
