Default 3 weeks without me! Guilt +++

I fly tonight overseas for 3 weeks with my family.
Dogs are staying at our home, with my son in law house/dog sitting.

Bernie GSD has already twigged something is going on today. He's pacing and panting already, despite me really trying hard, to pretend im not going anywhere in front of him today. And when we got to going home from walk this morning, he stood still staring at me on several occasions, and tried to refuse to go through the gate to come back in the house! Bloody dog is telepathic i swear!

Pohm has taken full advantage of his off behaviour, and stolen his breakfast as it'd be a shame to waste it if he's not eating it. Bitch that she is.

Im going to miss them so much. 3 weeks of walking around places, with no dog at your side?

Guilt producing behaviours coming thick n fast now, with those puppy dog eyes watching me as i type. Whereas Pohm is now at my feet, head on foot, as i think Bernie blurted out to her, that we are all leaving for 3 weeks, as she knows now too. Great.

Can definitely relate to this! I always try not to let on to the animals that we're going away, but they always know something is going on. I reckon the dogs have learnt that if the camper van comes out it means we're going away!

Hope you have a good trip though!

Oh me too. I get sep anx way worse than my dog.

And she knows what packing looks like. She knows what packing her stuff looks like and what packing my stuff looks like and what it means if I only pack half.

My cats have picked up on packing. If we start packing for anything, Seby (our oldest cat) instantly becomes an annoying and very loud shadow. He follows us everywhere, gets very sooky and meows at us non stop!

'bernie' - I hope you and your family have a wonderful trip/holiday !
Sorry to say - but - the guilt is on your shoulders not the pups ! They are just reacting to you !
