    Default The Words Pit Bull

What is your immediate thought/response to hearing the words Pit Bull or similar?
And what would it be based apon?

For example ; Media experience . Where you have not had any personal interaction with the breed or anyone that owns the breed but based apon purely what you've heard, read etc within the media.

Research and Media experience; Where your answer is based apon not only the same as media but where you yourself have also done a little/lot reading on the breed or asked people with regards to learning more of the breed.

Friends/Family experience ; Where you have had Friends or family or friends of family etc own or have had personal interaction with one/more of this breed .

Personal experience ; Where you yourself have known, met, or owned one of this breed -pure or part.

    Thankyou Socks.
So being an owner would you have classed your dogs as completely opposite as to what the media would have you believe?

I have never met a Pit Bull, but I have seen pictures, and I think they are absolutely stunning. I never belive what the TV says about them, I have formed my own opinion from my own personal research.

I will admit, based on my only exposure to Pit Bulls is media, so my immediate reaction is that they're aggressive dogs. But realistically, I know that's only due to the subset of owners who train their dog to be like that. I don't think I've ever really met a purebred PB.

I'd love to see one on the street, they're such a fascinating looking dog - big serious noses and stocky builds. They make me immediately envision the US street car culture for some reason.

My wife has a bad association with Staffy's - she thinks they're aggressive since the ones in her neighbourhood as a kid were all poorly brought up. I'm the opposite, all the staffy's I've known have been quiet loyal friendly types, so we approach them very differently on the street!
