YOUR question Chuppa Chup and yet when people such as myself give you an answer you don't want to hear, you are like a PB with a bone - gnawing on it for all its worth.
Well what a rude, disrespectful person you are dogsavvy, the OP'S name is not Chuppa Chup, it is ChoppaChop.

Ignorant ppl like yourself are really starting to piss me off, how in the hell did you even hold down a job as a vet nurse, hate to see the horrible treatment you gave APBT owners & their dogs whenever they came into vet where you worked.

No Floyd, not rude just a mistake thats all but I find it amazing that you are SO QUICK to condemn a person to being rude and arrogant over a 'U' instead of an 'O'. My goodness what does that say about what type of person you are? Not much of one imo.
Truth is you are all put out because I didn't suck up by saying what you wanted to hear about the breed you own. Now if I had come on and said," Pit Bulls are so nice and never do anything wrong and are owned by the best people ever and never bite or attack anyone" , will that make everything right with you? Am I now no longer a rude arrogant "Rottie" person?"

For goodness sake , I think you Bull breed owners need to stop taking yourselves so seriously and RESPECT other people opinions on PBs, even if that opinion is not to YOUR liking.

Choppa, talking of sticks, any normal person ,after reading that horrible story of the Rottie, would have shown compassion and commented on the story, but all you could come out with was- "Oh for crying out loud...would you like some violins to go with that ?"

Typical single minded PB owner, can see nothing other than how 'they' feel and 'their' dogs.

    *sigh*
You sure are a tiresom one....

    Lets see ,:

I have no problem whatsoever with receiving it as you put it , but when it is factual and well deserved free from petty insults , breed bashings and attempting to bait people or put words into there posts that just arn't there.

Us "Bull" people will always be quick to jump to our breeds defence , so is every other breed owner .

I actualy did comment on the little boy , it is a tragic , tragic thing to have happen

And you call me the dog with a bone

Chihuahuas are also known to be aggressive little things.
But they never get any media coverage cause when they do attack, they hardly make an impact.
Thats why dogs like the PB and Rotti get on TV, its cause when they do attack, they do a whole deal of damage, also making them seem more aggressive then say, a King Charles.
A Kings Charles could be as 'dangerous' as any breed.

I voted personal experience, but like a few others my opinion of PB's isn't a pleasant one..

I was bitten at the age of 19 walking home from work by one, it (sorry didn't check if he/she) was off a leash, wondering around and quite aggressive (obviously to have bitten me). She was walking on one side of the street and I was on the other she ran towards me and I kept walking thinking she was going home to one of the houses I was walking past, unfortunately I was bitten on the bum before I really realized that her aggression wasn't just "for show" but directed at me..

As Anne said, I know not ALL PB's are like this, I know how the media portrays them is completely wrong and I don't agree with them being put down purely based on their breed.. I can completely understand that it can take a long time to get the "kill instinct" that has been embedded into a lot of pups of this breed, and I don't think the breed should be ruled out because of it..

But once bitten twice shy applies to me I must say... In a literal sense.

I am probably more "media washed" by rotti's then I am any other dog, as I have had very little to do with them, and have heard some nasty things. Whilst I would never outrule one, the sheer size of their head amazes me, I know I would not have any control over one (either walking one, one coming from me, or trying to stop one from chasing a cat etc)..

I know this may sound very hypocritical seeing as i know a GSD x. I know not that long ago these dogs were also in the media about being awful untrustworthy dogs etc etc. I know you take the risk of accidents with any dog large or small, but large dogs do have more chance of causing more harm, then like others have said a chihuahua (spelling? sorry!) but thats not to say they are more or less aggressive then other breeds..

I know at the end of the day if Chloe decided she wanted to take my hand or my daughters hand off there isn't going to be a whole heap i can do in terms of prying her teeth open, she is going to be way to strong for me... And for this reason I am not complacent around her, I like her lots, and she will always be apart of our family and loved very much the more time we spend with her . But at the end of the day she is a dog and can be unpredictable (like humans!) and I wont leave my daughter alone with her and I try to be aware of whats going on as best i can when I am around her..

Choppa, I must say I pegged you in one , you , as a Bull breed owner haven't let me down but the 'BULL' is not for the breed ,it's for the "tiSH' that comes with it !

I like PBs because they ARE dogs, but, I don't like them as a breed because of what they were and are still bred for ,plus the fact NONE can be trusted and I don't like the majority of PB owners for two reasons , a) what they have DONE to a breed of dog in destroying ,in the general publics eye, what little , good or endearing traits the breed may have had and b) we now have BSL hanging over EVERY owners head, regardless of breed, thanks to macho type idiot PB owners , NOT Rottie owners or GSD owners or even Cattle Dog owners, BUT Pit Bull owners !!

That is my opinion CC, so get over it !!

Please note, I said 'majority' and NOT 'all' as i am sure there are one or two responsible PB owners out there somewhere in the community.
