Default Please help with this potential dog

    Hi all

Seriously considering this German shepherd x

Anyone have a guess what it could be crossed with?? Or what they think in general? Would love a good German shepherd but I just think rescuing a dog this time is better

    Absolutely no idea

in one of those photos - I thought he had beagle ears... in a few others he looked a bit Rottweiler - so maybe he was crossed with a beagle x Rottweiler.

But there is a hunting breed called "bull arab" which is a mix of whatever seems good at the time - to go pig hunting with... including greyhound, great dane, American Staffy, maybe a bit of bull terrier (the English sort), and pointer (English or German) etc... so it could be a "bull arab" x GSD.

The best way of deciding if this dog is for you, is to apply and try to organise to meet up. See if you can phone as well if you don't get a reply back within a few days. Remember to put something that shows specifically why you're interested in Lennon - he's been with them since January. Eg that you like big dogs and have owned one before (and what happened to that one).

And follow up on their facebook page or by phone if you don't hear back. Sometimes rescues can be a bit disorganised as far as keeping track of who has called - their priority is looking after the dogs and looking after potential adopters sometimes comes second... and they get a lot of tyre kickers which can be frustrating - people who argue about price or just never let them know when they've lost interest (found another dog elsewhere). And some rescues are run by crazy people. Be prepared for anything and be gently persistent.

Also be prepared that this might be special needs dog and your home might not be suitable - tho some rescues can be overly fussy about these kinds of things because of previous bad experiences with adopters who did the wrong thing by the dog.

He is absolutely stunning!! I see German shepherd cross kelpie.
I promise that you will not be disappointed with rescuing a dog, they always have that extra bit of 'special' and seem so thankful that you saved them

I think there's kelpie in there too.
If you think dogs can't count, try putting three dog biscuits in your pocket and then giving Fido only two of them. ~Phil Pastoret
