Default We will be on Yappy Hour with Tony Knight (Amichien Bonding)

I have never seen the show, but my dogs will feature in one of the shows....Not sure how much, but my Katy-bear did a Rescue of Tony by his hand, twice. He was amazed that she could pull him in and not mark or hurt his hand.....she has such a huge mouth too. I gave him a treat to give her and he laughed as his whole hand went in her mouth and came out minus treat, but not a mark

Tessa and Annabelle did a kayak ride with him and Annabelle a Dummy Rescue.....I was quite proud of mine working amongst the mayhem of a whole lot of other dogs playing in the water as they wanted it as back-ground for the shoots....Water play does not usually happen in a Rescue

The dogs were perfect......I am quite proud....Who says you should not work with animals, no re-takes required here...........All done in less than two hours

Yes it's right in prime dog walking time for me.

    So I've missed it.

But this week - just been to the vet for vax and to check on lame shoulder - and vet recommended a week of rest and then leash walks and then see. And I said I thought leash walks were "rest" and she said "rest" means nothing. Oh dear, herding dog not going to be happy with that.

But I might get to watch yappy hour. If the dog stops fetching shoes and yelling at me for not taking her for a walk.

Hmm really interesting. A post I made about it on the dark side - got mysteriously deleted - maybe they thought I was advertising or maybe the discussion got nasty.

Remember Augustine the Boxer - she and her owner were on last night talking about vegan diet for dogs. Augustine was very excited about it. And another lady talked about flea treatment with rosemary...

And there was some stuff about a canine stuff museum - that seemed like a really good idea to me, if we can manage a motor museum, why not a dog stuff museum. Tho I'm not sure about rooms full of porcelain dogs is my idea of a museum to dog history.

And there was some stuff about a French bulldog that seemed confused. The stuff ie the facts about French bull dogs seemed confused. They're about as French as an Aussie shepherd is Aussie.

Why is it that all of these times are inconvenient for me to sit down and watch tv -_- Sigh...

Interesting that your post got deleted Hyacinth.... Hmmm...

I'm pretty sure I met Augustine the Boxer at the Dog Lovers Show last year... got a info/sample bag from them...
I hate it when people think its okay to have a dog (or other animals like cats and ferrets) on a vegan diet... usually its vegans trying to force their lifestyle on their pets...

I am vegan and I investigated the vegan for dogs thing. I know a rescue worker who has been feeding her dog vegan for years and it thrives. She also feeds the rescue dogs vegan and they have no trouble shifting to her regime.
I choose not to as Maggie is very active and has teeth for meat, unlike myself who appears set up for a more herbivorous diet. My choice which may change one day.
However it can be done and the dogs I have met are healthier than many of the average overweight ones I meet every day. And those are the lucky ones actually getting exercised.
There does seem to be a problem with not feeding meat to cats though i have read.
Many of the rescue people are vegan/vegetarian and their rescue work is an outreach of their compassion for animals.
    Not offended, just saying.

Thanks Farrview, always good to hear perspective from someone who is more involved than myself!

I guess with dogs (being omnivores) its not as bad as cats or ferrets who are carnivores. But I still struggle to understand why someone would see a need to remove something from an animals diet that is really beneficial to them... but to be honest... I struggle to understand why someone would want to remove beneficial things from their own diet either

Of course, I understand the reasoning behind it, I know many vegetarians and vegans (of varying degrees of strictness). But its all a personal choice, everyone is different I don't eat loads of meat, but I do eat it.

My dogs won't have a bar of a lot of foods that aren't dog food or meat I still struggle to get either of them to eat a piece of carrot. Yet one of my cats hates meat... He'll only eat dry cat food or cheese...

I was just having lunch at work and the topic of dog diets came up . She is annoyed because since she put her mastiffs on raw they have started raiding the veggie garden..lol
