Default What should I feed my dog??

    Hey guys

I would just like some advice on what I should feed my dog.

    Information about him:
Six months old this coming Thursday
    Border Collie, Male.

At the moment he has access to Advance dry food 24/7 and at night gets the Advance canned food. He likes his food, but I'm thinking to change his canned food to raw as i have heard its better? We feed our other dog raw, who is seven years old, maltese x poodle. He gets chicken necks every night. But at puppy school, the trainer said not to feed big dogs chicken necks as they could choke by the size of the neck.

So is there any good raw meat that I can feed him and what amount or should I just stick to canned food?

Cooper also has a instagram if you guys want to check him out @crazy_coops15

    Thank you heaps!

I personally don't feed raw (yet) so I'm not sure what meats people go for, I'll let other people explain that part. I do believe it is better for dogs though, a more natural diet for them

Definitely don't feed chicken necks to a large dog, and make sure that Cooper can't get to the chicken necks that your other dog has.

Also, I checked out your instagram, Cooper is gorgeous! I followed you, mine is @kodaaussie

I feed Maggie raw chicken and lamb mince. She came to me having been fed raw roo. I supplement with Black Hawk The odd egg and rice and left over steamed or boiled veg. She seems to thrive on it.

I make a casserole out of vege and roo mince for my dog and supplement with black hawk. I've been thinking about changing back to nutro natural choice - because it's now cheaper (black hawk has gone way up in price), and there have been some problems with the black hawk biscuits - I've found a few with plastic embedded in it (bright green against the brown dog food), and my current batch is more like crumbs than biscuits which makes feeding and training with them a tad messy.

I don't feed raw at the moment.

Commercial tinned dog food - just makes the worst possible dog farts.

There's lots of information on the Internet about raw feeding if that's what you want to do If your other dog is already raw fed it's no big deal. It can be as simple or as complicated as you want to make it

Chicken frames are good for larger dogs and I give them to my Standard Schnauzer frozen so they take longer to eat. Also turkey wings, roo mince, liver (occasionally) ... the list goes on. Google raw feeding dogs and you'll be reading for days

I just feed whatever my boy happens to eat at the time, might be leftovers, might be one of those dog food rolls, might be raw pet mince, chicken and rice, whatever I might have on hand and mix it up

My dog would starve if I didn't have a shopping list, buy stuff for the recipe and cook it up, and buy some more dry when I get to the last of the tubs of what I've got.

There's never left overs for the dog - I eat them all.
