Default Kelpie with different coloured eyes?

I just saw an ad on facebook for "Beautiful well bred working kelpie pups" 3 black and tan pups and one blue and tan pup. I was instantly drawn to the ad because its not often i see blue and tan kelpies around. So I was looking at the pic of the pup (just melting over how cute she is) but I noticed she has one dark brown eye and one bright blue eye... Is that even possible in Kelpies? I always thought Kelpies couldn't have blue eyes let alone one of each?

Tell you what, if i was in the market for another dog (which i'm not at the moment), i'd be snatching up this little pup in no time if she was from a good breeder. She is seriously beautiful.

Well maybe the dog has some border collie or coolie in its ancestry? It's probably not something a breed standard kelpie breeder would want.

And I've seen a lot of "koolies" that look like kelpies to me.

It's also possible that given where the ad was - that the owners don't really know what their dogs' breed is.

This one is in the coolie registry gallery pages

Yeah i didn't think blue eyes was any kind of trait of a kelpie, not a desired trait at least. Who knows, could be any kind of history in the pup i guess haha

Apparently the parents work on a dairy farm, but i imagine in any working dog who's history isn't tracked on some kind of registry there is bound to be mixes somewhere. Dodge just came from a farm which happened to use Kelpies for their work, so technically she could have some kind of other breed back in her history. In saying that though, her parents looked very pure to me, as does she.

Here's a pic of the pup

She looks pretty much the same as Dodge did as a pup except for the eyes and ears, Dodges ears were almost fully up at that age. Also Dodge was pretty lean as a pup, she was very much the runt of the litter, and wasn't of the best health (skin condition) when we got her.

This pup sort of looks like her muzzle might be a big too chunky for a Kelpie, perhaps? Maybe i'm just imagining things though

Can't explain the ears or face shape. Hard to tell from one small photo.

There were some koolies that colour too. Sometimes the eyes change colour as the puppy gets older.

Sammy's eyes were a deep green for the longest time. Now they're more of an ochre/amber colour with tints of green. Definitely not standard for Dobermanns but certainly gets him a lot of attention.

Dodge had bright blue eyes as a young puppy, but they quickly changed to amber as she got older.

I thought that because this pups brown eye has clearly changed from the baby blue that they're born with, if the other blue eye was going to change, it would have by now.

David Bowie had different coloured eyes. Don't know if it was natural or not.
