Default Need Help for my puppy

    Hi everyone.

I am new to this forum so I do not know If this thread was opened before.

I have got a couple of questions to ask in regards to my puppy's behaviours lately. She is a 9 months pure breed Chocolate Labrador Retreiver.(Shes an outside dog).

She won't go in to her dog house where she used to sleep in. One day me n my wife came home and saw our puppy limping. She was kinda struggling to walk.
I checked her kennel and found out that a part of the kennel was somehow broken and I thought her leg got stuck in there. More than likely she hurt her leg in there. Since that day she refuses to go in to her kennel. We use treats to make her go in there but she does not want to stay more than a couple of seconds.
I bought her a trampoline so she could sleep on it. She sleeps on the trampoline but chews the corners of it. Because the winter is coming I do not want her to sleep outside of her kennel. I do not know what to do.

    My questions are;
    - How am I supposed train my puppy to make her sleep in the kennel,
    - If I was to get/make a new kennel would that be a solution,
    - How to make her stop that chewing habit?

    Any help will be appreciated.

Hi there. I think I can help a little. But firstly, did you take your pup to the vet? She might have done some damage if her leg was caught?

Both of my dogs sleep inside but when I got the first dog she was happy to sleep outside but not in the kennel I bought her.
I could tell she was unsure about the kennel so I moved it close to the backdoor where my family would come in and out. That way she didn't feel so isolated.
In the end, I got one of my unwashed t'shirts and put it in kennel. within three nights she was sleeping in there. I assume that she felt secure in there as she had my scent close to her.

Your pup associates her kennel with an unpleasant experience. Try the above and see how you go. Put her food bowl at the entrance to the kennel and see if that helps too. Can you move the tramp under cover for now?
On the chewing - does she have she have chew toys or bones. My Staff is 9 months old and chews everything so he has a massive marrow bone he spends quality time with.

Be patient. If she is content to sleep on the tramp than so be it. Or if you are really worried about the cold, bring her inside for the time being.

Hope this helps in a small way

Thank you for your reply Ados.

I took my puppy to the vet that night the vet said its not something that we need to worry about and the next day she was fine.
I put one of my unwashed t-shirts in to her kennel, at first she enjoyed it and the next day there was a couple of holes on the t-shirt. The tramp was too big for her kennel to put under it and I ended up chucking the kennel out and bought a new plastic one from bunnings. she sleeps in there at nights but we only give her the bed after 10pm (that means bed time) coz we know she is gonna chew the bed if we give it to her earlier.
I bought her a big kong toy prom the pet shop she plays with it.

Thank you for your advise but. I really appreciate it.
