Default Need Help! Is my puppy really an Amstaff??

    $_20(4) - Copy.JPG$_20(1).JPGmore e 005.jpg
we bought our little girl from someone off gumtree, around 3 weeks ago. We were shown a picture of the parents.. first pic.
The second pic is what we were expecting, at 7 weeks. When the time come to pick her up, we noticed she had browns spots on her head.
As the weeks went by, we noticed more spots appearing on her head and down her back. Pic3 is 9 weeks.
I've never personally seen a purebred Amstaff with this.
My concern is that she isn't purebred.
Any thoughts or knowledge would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

Were they registered breeders? With what board? Did you check them out? Were you given papers?

As Di_dee1 says. Also, Gumtree is one of the most popular sites that puppy farms/mills use to advertise their puppies/dogs. Did you actually view the parents or just shown photos?

Hi guys no we didn't get to see the parents. We live 6 hours apart, so we did half way trip. They brought the puppy, without the parents.
The weren't registered breeders, also we never got papers.

If you didn't buy from a registered breeder who supplied you with papers you'll never know. The brindle parent(mother??) looks very amstaff/apbt, the white parent could be amstaff/apbt but it looks a little wrong to me ... not that I'm any expert on amstaff's

She looks gorgeous. Does it matter if she isn't purebred?

Hi, yeah Im not sure looking at her myself. I was set on an american staffy, we named her Katana.
Is it typical for a white Staffy to have brown spots?

I don't believe it would be unusual, although the ones i've seen are generally more black spots than brown, but that certainly wouldn't make me think she isn't purebred ... but like I said, the only way to be 100% sure of what you're buying it to buy through a registered breeder and to be supplied with the pedigree papers that prove it

    Very true, I understand that.
Because I'm not well educated about the amstaff/apbt breed, I'm just hoping that there's nothing that jumps out to you guys that indicates she isn't what we've been lead to believe.
She is a beautiful little girl, and we love her heaps already , but if she ever has puppies we want to be able to tell ppl what they are, with confidence.

Ok, as far as I can tell, from forum reading, Amstaffs have a black nose only, and the upper lip doesn't go down past the chin.
The fathers lips are drooping down much further than his chin, he has a brown/liver nose, and his eyes all point to him being apbt....
Katana has a liver nose, although her jowels are not as droopy, I don't think we could class her as a purebred Amstaff, even if she was.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
