    this is derailing, but interesting...
Pohm will grass on the other dogs. As in tell me they are doing the wrong thing. She lets me know (body language) something is up. I go look. She's a good alert. Reliably onto something fast, that ive missed. Her 2 mates sneaking off for an example. She looks sheepish in her approach, has learnt that a certain head move, that Brian has taught every single member of the family to perform for him, on cue! (dog is bloody odd, and he landed with us in control HA!) So to alert me it was Brian, she made the head gesture of Brian. How bloody weird is that? And span on spot when i said Bernie, a bernie behaviour but not one of hers.
werid dogs are. They puzzle me.
They do understand more than we currently recognise i believe.

And bernie, always the gobshite GSD. talks i swear with intonation. And he mimics too. Us humans, he can say hello to, Brian has a yorshire terrier inside him that comes out when he whines, a teeny tiny dog noise, that doesnt belong in such a huge dog. Well now, Bernie has copied this voice, as it seems to get lots of attention . So i cant tell who's doing it now as its rather high pitched hard to locate sounds. So they both get attended. Well trained i am.

Dogs are better than chimpanzees at reading and training humans. They understand pointing very well too. Or we'd be crap at agility. Wolves do some pointing as well, tail waving or nose pointing to organise dogs around hunts to best advantage. You go this way, I go that way...

And monkeys or humans... where all get punished for the wrong that one did... will pre-empt and prevent the action that causes the punshiment when a new member to the group is introduced. I guess that could be extrapolated to if I get punished for something you did, I'm going to try to stop you from doing that. Eg dog poop at the park. I'm going to tell you when you need to pick up. And I will say thank you if you spot one of my dog's efforts. etc. And if a person refuses to pick up their dog's poop I'm going to do my best to encourage them not to come back to the park.

pointing, yes. I have 2 pointers. bernie, who points to his lead. pohm who can talk with that body, never mind indicate a direction.
You know that snaky hip dance staffie's etc do, where they are desperate to jump into your arms for a hug, but know they cant jump, and are dying for you to stroke them please! and they writhe in anticipation with snaky hip shake. I love that dance, it will melt me everytime. After all we all just wanna be loved. Owners included!
Brian doesnt point. we're still trying to figure out what Brian does lol
