    Hi dogman

    cut and paste from word - the newer versions of word and IE (and maybe other browsers) would probably cut and paste you a lot of html text.

    I use a text editor called notepad ++
    Notepad++ Home

    to type up long posts and paste them in here.

    It sticks to ascii or whatever text format you choose and doesn't add formatting code that you can't see.

    Where as if you cut and paste into a web page form field from word - it does add a pile of formatting crud that is probably incompatible with this forum.

    Not sure why that would get your log in or IP blocked but I haven't heard back at all from Morgan yet either. Might have to try his linked in page. Eventually.

    Hi guys,

    This is a test C&P using MS notepad...to see if I get blocked.

    It works...didn't get blocked must have something to do with MS Word...I hope.

    Hyacinth, Did have a look at notepad ++...too complicated for me but thanks anyway.

    notepad ++ too complicated?

    I find it much easier to use than MS Word. Hmm...

    I don't entirely trust ms notepad but obviously it must be "ascii enough".

    I watched a few videos on notepad++ on youtube and it looked complicated so I'll give it a miss...but thanks anyway.

    I watched a few videos on notepad++
    I never did that. Maybe that's the problem.

    I just installed it, and I start it up and use it like ms notepad. I find the cut and paste a bit more reliable than notepad and it makes formatting like indenting easier (tab/shift tab).

    It does have a lot of features to help programmers. But I don't use those often.
