Ados, for a good, well bred pup from an ethical breeder the price should be around $1000 for a Stafford. One of the links Riley posted had pups available and at first glance they seemed to fit the bill as quality ethical breeders ... of course nothing beats a face to face meeting to weed out the less desirable

Thanks MMJ. I have seen prices ranging from $800 to $2,400. Of course, the blues staffs appear to demand a higher premium. Right at this very moment, we are probably financially about 6 months off. In the meantime I will spend time with other staffy owners in my new club and hopefully get more advice and info from them as well.

    cheers

I think I put in another post...

go along to some events (shows or social) run by the Western Australian Staffordshire Bull Terrier club.

That way you can meet the SBT obsessed and their dogs and see what personalities (Dog or human) that you get along best with. And they can get to know you and then you can be top of their list for puppy homes (after their own of course).

Don't buy a blue unless maybe it was just a natural occurance in a litter of otherwise standard colour pups ... and certainly don't pay more for one. There was a couple of "blue" staffords that used to come to my beach, both were stupidly muscled(Staffords are supposed to be nuggets but they should be fast and agile nuggets) and had breathing problems .. I haven't seen either of them for a few years now - my bet is they've both succombed to their poor breeding

Also, if you're looking at pups that the asking price is significantly above $1000 you really should sit back and have a good look at the breeders
