Default help! lump side of dog's face?? :((

    hi, new to the forum
okay just going to jump straight in because i'm very worried, my 13 year old jack Russel cross has a hard lump under his eye on the right side of his face, its hard and doesn't feel like it has anything in it and i believe it's under the skin. it's quite large, and his eye is half shut due to the swelling, i dont think it's teeth problems as he ate two (Raw) chicken thigh bones yesterday (he had the lump yesterday, but it wasn't as big). i think it hurts a bit when i touch it, but he's still eating and i gave him some cooked brown rice and beef mince with coconut oil just then, and he ate it as usual, he hasn't even been acting strange, still as active as he normally is and breathing normally.
any help would be appreciated, not sure if i can afford a pet visit due to current financial situations feel like the worse dog owner in the world.

Hi 'subster' and the forum !

Sorry - the only thing that I will suggest very strongly is - off to the vet ASAP. The position of the lump is very definitely a major concern.

Being in a tight money situation is not helpful here - but the health of your pup is your responsibility. Is there an AWL or RSPCA near you that have vet facilities ? Maybe their consult fees will be more manageable for you.

    Good Luck !

with any kind of lump that gets big quickly - definitely off to the vet asap.

Could be some sort of abscess, infection, grass seed infection, insect/spider bite, lumpy thing...

could also be a bruise - but not if it is still getting bigger the next day.

Something that swollen is going to hurt, just because everything is so stretched tight.

Could be so many things, hopefully its just a little bite by a mean bug.
    Good luck!

I believe it was a bee! we have these plants that attract lots of bees and the bees also like to buzz around the flowers that have fallen off onto the ground, he must have been sniffing around there and aggravated one

It's actually completely healed now, all i have to do now is to clean the broken skin (he must have been scratching it) with some salt water and he will be good as new.
