    Here's my wild guess...
His mum looks like a staffy cross bull arab and his dad looks like an akita cross blue heeler.
If you think dogs can't count, try putting three dog biscuits in your pocket and then giving Fido only two of them. ~Phil Pastoret

I think he has dads colouring and ears (sort of) and mum's shape.

Dad looks like a mixed breed. Mum looks a bit like an amstaff/pitbull mix - probably not an ANKC pedigree either.

So you have a mix of a mix of a mix eg "proto dog". And he's going to be big and strong.

I also wondered if the Dad has Blue Heeler in him. Just yesterday i read somewhere that there are two variations of Akita, Japanese and American. The Japanese Akita only comes in white, red and brindle and never have a black mask. The American Akita comes in loads of colours however they always have a black mask. My conclusion, the Dad is not pure bred because he doesn't fit either of those descriptions.

Whatever the dad is, he needs some serious grooming

dad looks like an akita to me. got a grainy photo thats been zoomed out and he's got those weird straight akita cat legs. and he's huge, look how tiny that rottweiler looks.

needs a groom though, thanks for the responses anyway.

and an american akita doesn't need to have a black mask -

Ahh yes you're right i just checked the ANKC standard and it says they can be with or without a mask/blaze. I don't know much about Akitas at all, just believed what i read yesterday I don't even remember where i read it now haha

No doubt the Dad does look very much like an Akita, its just the colour that tripped me up, has a bit of a cattle dog essence. Maybe his head shape too, but as i said before, i don't know much about Akitas.

Get a DNA test done most vets do it, I know mine does. They can tell you exactly what breed it is. It usually cost around $160-$180 to do.

I haven't done research into them but I heard that DNA tests really aren't that accurate... Can anyone enlighten me on the topic?

DNA tests are good for a giggle but they won't tell you what breed your dog is with any kind of accuracy at the moment.

Part of the problem is that most of the DNA tests are compared with breed lines in the USA. And the breed lines in Australia have been mostly separate for a long time. And back before DNA tests or maybe even after DNA tests - sometimes the dog that's listed as the parent dog - isn't. So the breed lines are more mixed than their pedigree ancestry suggests. And that DNA is used to figure out what breed your dog is. So you get English Pointer + Dalmation - what is it really?

so for a dog that looks 100% Amstaff/Pitbull - it says it is mostly border collie x boston terrier...

Haha, that video is pretty amusing, i don't see ANY border collie in that dog If i had the money to waste (which i don't) I'd be tempted to buy a DNA kit and test it on my pedigree Aussie, just to see what it thinks
