    Default Maggie is very ill

No walk in the morning as it was raining. When it fined up she rumbled around the back garden. Lunchtime started vomiting saliva and grass. Vomited several times over the next three hours. Now it is the next morning and she is listless and lying down very quietly. Vet today its sunday of course so I will have to talk to whoever is on the weekend shift. I could lose my girl. She is very sick.
No idea what she ate, she loves chasing insects and lizards etc

I rang the vet and she said keep her fasting until tonight and try and get small amounts of water in. She did have a couple of slurps of her water this morning but is clearly feeling very seedy. She seems a little brighter, the body language isn't as completely limp. She did wander outside and then come in almost immediately and lie down again with a groan. Very low energy, most unlike my pocket dynamo.
Tonight I am to try her on chicken and rice. if she doesn't eat I am to take her to the vet tomorrow.
Feeling more hopeful, thankyou for your support, surprising how reassuring it is.

Poor little Maggie hopefully she picks up soon and hopefully it's just a stomach bug. If you're having trouble getting her to drink, buy a 50mL syringe from the pharmacy (about $1.20) and slowly dribble water into her mouth, it's the only way I was able to get Meika to drink when she was sick earlier this year.

    Please keep us updated

If she doesn't want to eat - the fluids you cook the rice in could help too just for drinking (mum used to do that with our dog).
Will be checking in to see how she goes.

Well, like children apparently young dogs do come backs at speed. This afternoon she has made steady progress and is now wandering around looking for some food. She found a few biscuits in her bowl and scarfed them up. I only just finished the chicken and rice so she will have to wait for her tea when it cools down.
She is clearly heaps better. Apparently white tail spiders are a problem around here so maybe? Will never know, but she is no longer at deaths door.
    Thanks peoples for caring.
