    Unhappy No puppy for me

So got back from Bali Friday morning, called the breeder straight away even though I was falling asleep from flying all night. Sad news is only one puppy in the litter which the breeder will be keeping. the breeder was really lovely about it, said how disappointing it was as she had so many nice people waiting for pups. Even said she would understand if we couldn't wait and went to another breeder but I said that we didn't really feel comfortable with the other breeders we had met and were willing to wait for quality.

went to the dog show tonight and had another chat to her, patted all her adorable dogs and she even let out her prize champion dog to have a good hug and smooch with us. Told her that we now want two dogs about 18 months apart and again stated we were willing to wait for hers.

Can your breeder put you in contact with other good breeders that might have pups, even interstate maybe?

p.s it's very nice to see someone really doing it right. Well done!!!!

'ejburke32' - disappointing - but not the end of the world !

Just think of all the extra information and experience with this breed you will gain by keeping in contact with this breeder.

Thanks everyone for your support, its hard but it will be worth it in the end. My breeder is planning on mating two more bitches in Feb/March and she also has a friend who's a breeder and they use each other's dogs so I'm on her waiting list as well.

I thought about going interstate but I like being able to meet the breeder and the dogs plus one of my breeder's dogs just came 2nd Best in Show at the Royal Adelaide Show so these are beautiful champion dogs.

I am of course going a bit crazy so lock up your puppies people!!!

yes well done for doing it right!
and it will be worth it in the end. from the absence of traits you didnt want, from lack of allergies, etc etc
they're all champions though. Just differently.

It is so very hard to wait for the right dog.
I had to wait for years before my personal circumstances meant I could put the time and energy into a dog and had the right home environment. It was worth it.

Plenty more puppies like mine here...

But a bulldog puppy is a special thing and you won't want to leave one of those alone in a back yard when you finally get yours home.

No definitely not, this will be an indoor dog all the way. Only outside when he/she is with us for supervised play.

Was glad of the chance to catch up with the breeder again, I got to introduce my OH to her and I was very impressed when he didn't freak out at getting dog slobber all over his hands. He now says he is totally in love with bulldogs and has agreed that we will get two at an interval of about 18 months.
