Default Dog Grooming - first timer

    Hi All!
Took my 7month old pup to get groomed today. Just for comparison I was wondering what most people pay to get their dog groomed.

Buddy is a Border Collie X Terrier, and got trimmed all over as he couldn't see and was getting very hot

    Thanks,
    Kelly

Misha is a Mini Poodle x Cavalier KCS. I have been paying $55 to have her bathed, clipped, nails done etc by a professional groomer.
But I am about to trial a mobile groomer who charges only $35 for a dog Misha's size and coat.

Thanks for the reply. We were charged $60 and I thought it was a bit pricey

Misha hates being brushed but gets excited when she sees the brush because she knows she'll be getting yummy treats!
I groom her on the kitchen table. I tie her leash to the back of a chair so she can't get away, and I wear my treat bag. She would try to escape given half a chance but I am super vigilant and always have a hand on her somewhere.

She gets treats and lots of positive praise after I finish brushing and de-knotting each section.
I use tiny bits of cheese or cooked chicken for treats.

Before I started this method it was impossible to groom her, she would wriggle, try to get the brush off me, and run away as soon as she could.
Now she sees the brush and the leash tied to the chair and she runs to the table

Misha is 2 years old and I can now do her whole body in one session, but when I first started I found it was best to do one section really well at each session, and do multiple sessions each week to get her whole body done.

I'm hoping that she will eventually be much calmer when getting groomed. If this ever happens I'll buy clippers, scissors etc and do it all myself!
And if I ever win the lottery I'll buy a proper grooming table
