Default When will he show interest in a bitch?

Hi all, I wonder if you guys could give me some idea as to roughly what age an entire male will start to show interest in a bitch in season. Also, how far away can they smell them? Are some males more driven by this than others or are they all as driven by their hormones as each other?

Please excuse my ignorance, I'm trying to work out my boy. He's 13 months old now, spends half his life with his nose jammed up my old desexed bitch's twat, and has shown zero interest in any of the many bitches that are constantly wandering past our place. None of these girls are desexed, half are obviously feeding litters - surely the odd one must be on heat....

What if your dog is gay? lol
now for a more serious answer. Think answering the call of the wild. Some dogs will jump fences, frequently. some never try. happy to stay home. mating, for a un mated male, is pretty much like that. There will be dogs, that at 10 months, can find a bitch in heat, within a 25km radius!
Other's may notice, but not be bothered.

i have found with my entire males, 18 months for a large dog, and the call of the in season bitch becomes interesting to them.
Once the entire dog has mated, then the desire to mate again, (sound familiar?) becomes stronger. The more they are mated, the more determined they become to mate when triggered by a smelly female nearby.

Brian is 17 months old and entire. Still thinks entire females are something you body slam to the floor and sit on. As opposed to hump.

Lol, my boy has never ever shown even the slightest interest in a bitch on heat (Dodge is still entire). He is desexed now, but even before he had the snip, he just saw them as another friend, however if he met a male dog (desexed or not) he would start humping. My conclusion.... Koda is gay

Snoopy is 2 and 1/2 years old.
He has just started sniffing Ginny and attempting to hump her.
She is quite the dominatrix so I say to him "good luck with that mate"

They are both desexed as there is no way I would ever let these two loons
unleash 12 progeny into the world.
