Just observing dog people around me, I always assumed that most dog owners were happy to let their dogs french them. Since I was originally a cat person, I just could not for the life of me understand how they could enjoy swapping spit with an animal that does things like lick butts, eat poo, eat roadkill, eat pretty much anything gross etc... Now that I'm a dog owner, I don't feel AS disgusted when she tries but I still turn my head away and don't let Sky lick my mouth area. She tried once as a puppy and I turned my face away from her, and that was the last time she tried for a really long time! (did I offend her? lol)

Now when she's excited to see me home she'll try, but mostly she likes to poke me with her cold wet whippet nose. But I don't mind that at all - taught her to do it when I ask for an Eskimo kiss

well, i do admit, dogs generally are fast learners, and a dog that is attune with you will learn from the simplest things as a turn of the head.

i remember i would growl at a dog i had in the past and they would know straight away and would never do it again.
sucked when jumped the gun and growled at something that wasn't so bad. and but well, they listened.

Then you haven't met my dog. I have consistently given her a negative response for licking for 2 years straight now and she will still try. She is the most determined licker I've ever met.

    can't blame her for persistence
sometimes they just don't listen, but just be happy its nothing to bad.
