Default The worst news for Pohm :(

I took Pohm to the vet, for examination under anesthetic.
I had rang and spoke to vet before coming in, as new id need this sort of appointment from the off.
I took her in 1st thing. Vet did exam, and she was fab for him. We took her through, they put her under, i waited.
She's been limping on/off for past month. ? CL.
She's not been able to put her back left leg down for 24hrs.

Ive been told, she has a complete tear of the CL in both back legs. That surgery is off the cards as it is both legs.
And in my head, a voice is saying, she's 2 you idiot, she's a bit lame, fix her!
Vet has recommended PTS. And whilst she's not showing it, will be in a LOT of pain.
There were 2 surgeons who do the CL repairs working today, i have spoken to both, both recommending PTS.
    Im devastated.

I have asked for time. Ive been given a weeks worth of analgesia and asked to contact him within the week.

Don't give up yet get another opinion. Actually I had someone contact me about a new surgery for repairing CLs, his staffy had both back legs done and she runs around fine now. It's not common in Australia but apparently works by not only repairing the CL but the whole joint to make it stronger.

Oh Bernie NO! I'm so so sorry to hear that . I'm really liking the sound of Nekhbet's post - there may be hope, always worth getting a second opinion.

    Bernie

I hope you find a vet who can fix it - within your budget and restore Pohm's quality of life...

Was busting the CLs just bad luck or do you remember a specific zoomie twist turn that did it?

Like Nekhbet, I would be asking as many experts in the field as I could find. It can't hurt.

    TTA SURGERY

Here you go, I know the guy who had it done was up in Sydney and his rescue dog is getting along fine. If the dog is able to walk why is it euthanasia? More opinions! Never give in!
