Yesterday was back to surgeon for 2 wk check up and stitches out. Last visit.
All clear. Surgeon is very pleased with her recovery, good amount of weight baring etc. Good prognosis.

So i mentioned i wish to swim her. He said there is a growing body of evidence that the right kind of exercise, will assist recovery, and swimming is excellent, HOWEVER, has asked that i wait 2 weeks before starting. Giving her 2 weeks of not crated, indoors quiet time only first.
Then i can swim her, and walk her on pavements up and down the street for 2 weeks.
then at the 6 wk mark, we are good to go, but no bush walks, as these are too heavy duty on her new knee.

Glad to hear the good news Bernie. With the stitches having just come out, I would guess the wound is still not fully healed - hence the extra 2 week wait before you start her swimming. Thjere should be no scabs when you start as you do not want to risk getting an infection into the joints as that would be devastating.

Just remember what I said earlier and do not push her too hard whilst the muscles rebuild.
