Thread: How smart is your pup ?

  1. #1

Default How smart is your pup ?

I am sure that we can all find our breed of pup somewhere on this link – so for a bit of fun – see what score your pup gets !

    https://www.google.com.au/search?q=s...hrome&ie=UTF-8

Don’t feel left out if you have a very special loved cross bred pup – just add up all the scores for each breed that you know is in your pup and divide by the number of breeds that is in your pup !

Yes – it is an average score – but as I said – this should be a fun exercise !
Riley comes in with a score of 23 - I have made the assumption that he is all GSP - even though not registered !smiley-eatdrink004.gif

That link goes to Google. Is this the link you meant?

top 100 smartest dogs(how does your dog rate?) - Alberta Outdoorsmen Forum

    I got 7&41, so I guess that's 24.

According to this Molly should be around a 7...

The other night she spent a good 10 minutes trying to get chicken out of the tiny hole in the bottom of the crate before Meika (who should be a 39) walked right over the top of her head and through the door that was wide open

Yes - the link I put up - just goes to a google search page and yes the one above is the one I used to rate Riley.

There are heaps of different opinions about all of this ! I put up the google link - to show that a pup being smart not only depends on breed !

    Sooooo - your pup's score was 24 ?

King Charles cavalier spaniels get 69

My husband was convinced that our little girl was a cute ditz, as she doesn't come when you call her

I have proved to him over the last few days that she knows the command, but just chooses to not do it. if you have a treat in hand she can't move quick enough. She is still a pup, so a work in progress.

    'Sona71' - love it !

Her score only shows that she is a pup/girl that knows exactly what pushes her buttons to get a response she likes and the treats she wants ! That is not dumb or being a ditz !

So - I agree with you husband that she is cute - but he needs to lose the 'ditz' title when he is describing her to others or speaking to her !
Does your husband need some training to understand the females in his life ? smiley-eatdrink004.gif

Boo they only have the American Pit Bull Terrier at number 82! lol My two are pretty smart I think... bella is a calculating little witch and Harley can be a smart ass when he needs to be! lol

There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face.

Yeah the yanks have never heard of kelpies. Or koolies. Which are the two smartest dogs in my book.

Border collies are very smart - and very willing

I suspect Australian Cattle Dogs are just as smart but less wiling to do what you ask.

It beats me why golden retrievers are up the top of the list - most of the ones I know are as air headed as the afghans I've met. Apart from training people to give them food.

The ones you have to be wary of are the ones who are smarter than their owners, and better at running training with the dog in charge not the human. Shelties are very very good at this.
