    Default Dexter's new backyard

Well all the paperwork and stress is over now, and we finally have the keys to our new little patch of land. So this is Dex's new backyard, think he'll be happy? (the house at the back of the photo in the middle is just behind our back fence)

He hasn't been there yet, but I'll post a some more photos when we take him up next weekend.

Grevillea, yep it's all fenced, though only with sheep wire I believe so Dex would be able to wriggle through it without too much trouble if he wanted to. We'll have to see how we go with that, but we're planning on fencing off a smaller yard for him to stay in while we're not at home. Some parts of the fence have chicken wire over the sheep wire up near the house.

Sean, I can't wait for the peace and space! The ride on came as part of the deal, so that's all sorted, looks like a decent one too.. we just have to figure out how to use the thing now We are planning on getting a few sheep later in the year though to help with the grass.

I don't suppose it's got a granny flat that you'd rent to a quiet lady and her dog
I'd be happy to master the ride-on and tend the gardens ....

Sorry people, have been a bit flat out with moving, and had trouble getting power connected so we were camping in our new house for nearly 4 days. Only just got internet sorted out yesterday.

So far Dex is absolutely loving it, it's like he gets to step out into his own park every day, and because he's so low to the ground, his belly gets all wet from the dew on the grass and then he does his "I just had a bath" romp 'cause he's wet, so pretty easy to wear him out! He spends most of his day lounging on his bed on the verandah in the sun, and yesterday I went to the local butcher and grabbed him a bag of beef rib bones.

I need to take more photos, but here's a couple:

Does anyone have any idea what the fish is? I found it on the bank of our dam (to my knowledge our dam isn't stocked), I'm just trying to figure out what it is. I suspect it might've been dropped by a passing bird, but it was right next to the dam, so maybe not? Pretty sure there's only certain species that you're allowed to stock your dams with, so would be good to know what it is.
