LOL...thats cool Riley. Thats the sort of thing i used to build. The goofs couldnt be trusted near any plumbing though.

Everything is stripped out back to a bare canvas now and looks terrible. Might have to wait till after Bali before i get real serious but for now i have my feelers out for cheap plants and materials.

Sean are you using mondo grass anywhere? My mum has a circle of it planted around a birdbath - a radius of maybe a metre - so there's heaps of it. My dogs love it, and it's gotta be the closest thing to unkillable I've seen...

I've got some out the front Dhru...i'll be giving it a go out the back eventually. Sure is bulletproof stuff...
I'm keen of pandanus and cycads right now....if the dinosaurs couldnt kill all the cycads (some ate them) then surely my goofs cant kill them. Touchwood....

Bloody tips fees are outrageous now.....i took the stuff i ripped out today and one ute load cost me $6 !!!

Ha, that's half what it costs us - and our council still can't provide decent services, despite being ridiculously expensive.....

'Sean' - all you need is a mulcher - then less trips to the tip !

Something else you can grow - easy peasy - as long as the family likes pineapples !

How To Grow Pineapples? Growing Pineapples Is Ridiculously Easy

They look good and Riley does not even pee on them !

WhooHooo ! Fantastic News - A baby has arrived at our place !

A pineapple - of course – what were you thinking ?

Let’s hope the Bl**d* BD aka Riley allows it to grow ! He has already thieved all the apples from the apple trees. Yes - they are miniature trees with small fruit – but I didn't even get a taste of one this year - and let's not talk about the mulberries either !

‘Sean’ – some more links for you – maybe projects for the kids:

Thanks again Riley...some more great info there.

I shouldnt complain but work is overloading me at the moment and i havn't had any chance what so ever to even consider starting on the garden. 13 hours today alone !!! and the rest of the weeks looking the same.......i keep telling myself it's all Bali money.

Anyway no doubt when i do get a chance to get stuck into things i'll be reffering to this thread and the excellent links so if you come across more links i'd love to read them !!
    Thanks again !!

Nastursiums, Parsley and Westringia and regular rosemary and a very spiky lemon tree plus kikuyu grass are keeping up with my hounds gardening habits. And the aggapantus and sour sobs. Not sure the aggies are non-toxic but she doesn't eat them - or the angel's trumpet (which is highly toxic)

    Congrats on the babies !!!

The yard is a bomb site at the moment. I've had to fence of the heavy dog traffic areas with concrete mesh which looks very ugly because ive transplanted a heap of Buffalo (Sir Walter) grass runners in the bare patches. Watering it everyday now its warming up and its growing like crazy !! The war against these dogs and my lawn rages on LOL.

I've ripped out all the old concrete garden edging aswell and slowly but surely i'm managing to score big rocks for my new edging/ rock wall. Since i'm such a tight arse and Bundy is a volcanic area i'm getting them from building sites, roadworks and anywhere else i can score them from for free !! So it's a slow and steady kinda thing.

Our trip to Bali gave me some great planting ideas but i'm struggling to find the right type of small clumping palm they used over there....i found one root bound pot plant and they wanted $100 for it !!! Bugger that !! Anyway, no rush ...i'll find some somwhere for bugger all.

The misses is pretty keen to start a big house reno inside aswell...ripping out walls and reflooring the whole house so if that starts my gardens will be on the back burner for sure.
So many things to do with so little free time...and a tight arse like me means nothing happens fast around here LOL.
