I also thought of "Yowie" as in Tim the Yowie man - and yowies are like yeti or sasquatch - or abominable snow men

Yowie is the Australian version. Hairy monsters.

Yowie is also the noise Huskies like to make when they're excited ....

Yowwwww eeee ooor rrroooooo oh ohooooooooooo rooo....

    Southern: after southern cross
    Eucky: after the Eucalyptus
    Opal:
    Barnsy:
    Whisper: After Farnham
Bazza, Shazza: Says it with tongue in cheek
    Fleece: after the golden fleece
Tucker: after the dog sat on the tucker box.
I too like Dfer, Cobber, Bluey, Red, and Dingo.

I like Opal, but it's more a girls name IMO.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I've discovered from this that i like names that are actual names, so i have settled on Cooper. Not as obviously Australian as i was looking for originally but i like it all the same

Can't wait tii i can bring him home!

The Cooper family are the makers of my favourite beers including an Aussie Stout... (like guiness)

    Coopers - History

So yet another good reason to pick "Cooper" for an Irish - Australian

my fave flavour is the Dark tho - I can't handle stout - it's too much.
