You don't understand my comment...as it doesn't mean what you think it means. If the R$PCA doesn't like your breed...then you will not be allowed to own it...that's what it means and when I last checked this was still a free country...so the R$PCA can get stuffed.

Well the RSPCA can go **** themselves haha, they shouldn't be allowed to dictate who gets to keep what breed just because THEY don't like it. It's not THEIR dog. If they had their way you wouldn't be allowed to keep GSDs, Dobermanns or Rotties because they're 'working dogs', and 'could be considered dangerous'. All dogs are dangerous. All dogs are born with claws, and fangs, and strong jaws. But with the right training and ownership, they won't be dangerous - it's up to the owner to do the right thing, not the RSPCA. Honestly, some of the replies on here have really made me reconsider my view of the RSPCA, god.

Without the RSPCA though......what will happen to all the homeless animals ???

These other mobs mean well but surely they couldnt handle the numbers even if they wanted too. I'm sure they'd try but then i bet my left one they'd start using the green dream more and more....just so they'd exist still.

I'm sure the RSPCA started of as a small rescue org at some stage....

    RSPCA is cashed up.

I personally am a very cynical person and dont like big not for profits that have fully fledged marketing teams, highly paid execs (in comparison), all the bells and whistles yet when I find a dog take it into an RSPCA all they keep drilling into me is that they will kill the dog after 30 days and making me feel like some kind of criminal... just sayin.

I suggest liking this page. They were the ones that organised the peaceful protest on the Lost Dogs Home's 100th birthday celebrations in Melbourne in March. They keep up to date with all the BSL info and such and are not afraid to confront the Big Shelters about their policies and procedures.

If the RSPCA got less support then it'd give the others a chance to grow a bit. I agree with goindeep - they make you feel like crap when you surrender (even though you'd be trying to do the right thing, and it'd be a last resort if you're responsible) - maybe so they can make a bigger profit margin? Because face it, someone there is making a profit, if there's executives.

Without the R$PCA...many more healthy dogs would not have to die because they were scared of a doll. Genuine rescue groups could be given the many millions that the R$PCA get from the Government and use on everything but the animals in their care. How many rescue groups spend millions on advertising...or build multi million dollar shelters... or drive new cars...have all their Inspectors in big office blocks then cry poor and beg for newspapers and cat litter...and of cause donations. Without the R$PCA we wouldn't have BSL either.

Genuine rescue groups do a far better job with nothing...than the R$PCA does with the many millions they have...and that's a fact.
