    Default Comfortis users...

I gave Bella a dose of Comfortis about 2 weeks ago and tonight I have notice 2 little fleas on her. Not sure why, hopefully they have just jumped on and were going to die. Bloody insects are driving me crazy between fleas and ants!

    I blame the cat .......

After the floods , Mozzies are giving us a hell of a time up here now. In all serious though, ive never had a single flea on either goof using comfortis so if the cats not on it too i'm wondering if it came from her. (not saying she's a fleabag either LOL).

Lol yeah I am thinking it may be the cat as well! Gah they are everywhere! I have the cat on Capstar but I am not sure its too effective. I gave Molly another last night, fingers crossed I can get on top of them

We use panoramis which is made my the same people as comfortis but does worms and heartworm too, and I have never had a flea problem until we went overseas last month, and left the girls with friends and their dogs. When we got back we found a flea on Meika and Molly was scratching. They were due again 2 days later for their tablet and I gave it to them and gave them a flea bath and didn't notice another flea, so hopefully they had just jumped on too. So frustrating when you think you have a great flea product and then find some!

When we bought the cat home we found a few fleas on him, I used advocate on him and haven't seen another one since, but he doesn't go outside so that might make a difference.

My vet advised me to use Comfortis on the cat too after we suspected she might have a flea allergy. It has not been approved for cats in Australia but she claimed it had been tested on cats elsewhere. Though a friend claimed she found some sources that mentioned bad side effects in cats. We had no problem with it and I just used 1/4 of a tablet.

Is it possible that Bella has vomited soon after eating the Comfortis?

I do seem to remember that the first time I gave Banjo Comfortis, I still found some fleas on her that first month. But then after the second dose 4 weeks later, they were all gone.

I read that comfortis has been approved by the FDA in the USA for cats.
Some cats and dogs do have a reaction but making sure they have a good meal
with it seems to work fine.
I have used it on my own cat and the daughters mate's cat with the
result being a very happy cat with no more itchies.
Found that a half or 1/4 leftover pill did not work - it needs to be "fresh" out of the blister pack.
I bought the one for very small dogs 4.6 to 10 kg and gave a full pill as these two puddas are hefty males.

I have to get some advocate for Molly, I order all of my stuff through my Step dad's mum who gets breeder prices (wouldn't believe how cheap) so I will get some in the next order. I gave one of the capstar tablets to the stray that comes around for a feed too so if I do them all at once fingers crossed they will die out.

I don't think Bella vomited, pretty sure I had her inside after and there were no issues. I made sure she had it after her dinner too. It was only her first dose since last years flea season as well!
