    Default RIP Willy

I've posted about Willy before. She was a purebred JRT who belonged to the owner of the granny flat I lived in for a few years and we remained friends. It was when I lived there that I got my dog Luna and her and Willy became the bestest friends. I trained Willy, walked her daily, took her rabbit chasing and to the river and lake and I was her favourite person in the the world. I had known her for about 12 years.

She must have been about 15-16 and today it was decided that it was time to send her to the rainbow bridge. Where she was no doubt reunited with Luna who died 18 months ago.

I am very happy I visited last week now. For a while she had only been able to recognise me by smell. But on NYE she came to sniff my hand and didn't show any sign of recognition. But last week she gave me a little bum wag (docked tail) after she sniffed me and jumped on my lap. So I am happy that I got to say goodbye.

She was one tough little dame and her passing signifies the end of an era for me.

We worked out she was probably 16. That is a fantastic effort, especially for a purebred dog. And I was told by someone she was a Tenterfield! Just to show how well I know my breeds. Lol

We had a wake for her last night and she'll be buried this morning. So much history is connected to that dog... Both people's and animals'.
