Cheers Mosh, i've settled down a bit now. I've been home nearly everyday since and havnt heard a peep from any dogs at all. I reckon he is one of those pathetic people you described. He's picked the wrong guy if he wants conflict though. Hopefully thats the end of it.

Had a shitty neighbour who complained to our council. Council complaints officer dropped in on us unannounced and after a half hour chat with the wife, left with a huge smile on his face.
Turns out the prick had complained that any activity on our property started his dog barking - so my opening the front door to go to work at 6.30 set him off. My wife opening the door to the fitness centre at 8 30 set him off, customers driving up the driveway set him off and so on etc.
We heard no more and the dog did not stop barking but they have since moved so all is good.

I find in inexplicable, Nev, that your activities setting off his dog would generate the visit. On what grounds did the council visit, that you opened and shut doors? Surely you were given reason to complain about his dog barking ceaselessly.. (scratch head..some people)

I don't know if this will help but here goes. Big thing I try to remember that perception is reality. If you believe that something is happening (for example government corruption etc., etc) it's as good as reality, despite any rhetoric otherwise. The bloke may have left a note because a lot of people don't like conflict and he might be concerned about walking away with a sore jaw as you alluded. The good thing is that if he has called council up they will be obliged to send a ranger to sit outside your house from time to time and listen. If nothing comes of it, any further complaints he makes to council will fall on deaf ears. If he shows up, you can direct him to the council who will have by now let him know they can't finger your dogs.

    Cheers
