    Default Interesting encounters

So I took Banjo for our usual walk to the pond this morning.

First we came across a family flying a model airplane on the oval. Now I've seen Banjo put her hackles up before but never like this! All the hair on her back was standing up. I've actually never seen hackles like that on any dog. When the plane landed she started running towards it but came back immediately when I told her to leave. To the relief of the family!

After her swim we followed the path under the gum trees and I met a big lizard. I made myself laugh because my brain clearly told me 'lizard' but still something made me yell 'Aah!' which startled the lizard who hissed at me and ran into the grass. So I parked the bike to have another look at him and Banjo chased him when he ran but again stopped when I told her to. By then the lizard had managed to climb a little way up a slippery gum tree. And it seemed like Banjo couldn't see him there. So she just kept circling the tree for ages. Looked pretty funny.

We're moving away from here this week and I'm very sad about losing our awesome dog walking spots. I chose this house because of that.

Have you had an update on when your new place will be finished?

The house and dealing with the builder and the contract has caused me so much stress in the past few weeks. And all sorts of other stuff too. The expected completion date is now early June which is way later than I had expected.

So we'll be living with friends until then. It won't be easy but we're very lucky that we have someone willing to take us in for that long. I'm thinking one of the things I can do to thank them is to walk their dog and do some training with her.

So sorry to hear that the delay is so long. Sooo frustrating for you.
Where would we be without our friends?
I hope you can put it out of your thoughts while you are away.

Oh Beloz, that must be stressful for you, as you say lucky you have good friends, they're worth their weight in gold (not to mention their dog is going to love you coming to stay) ... hoping the construction goes up quickly once it starts

That would have been funny, watching Banjo circling the tree looking for the lizard!

How good is it that Banjo just leaves on command?? what a good girl!
I think I will be dragged on the floor trying to hold onto Hooch's leash, screaming *leave* while he is running faster just so I let go lol

She's a very good dog, my Banjo. Apart from still chomping on my friends hands when she greets them.

I've been packing up the house all on my own so I'm exhausted. Still mess everywhere and I'm expecting the cleaners any minute now and have to work the next two days before I hand back the keys tomorrow. It's been the worst Xmas hols ever. But almost over now!

Hang in there. We moved into our place two years ago after huge delays. The floor in the new house was only finished the very day we moved in because we had to leave our rental property. So after moving everything we cleaned the old house almost all night before handing over the keys the next morning and continue working in the new house. It was very stressfull - but now it's just great to have our own place

Ruby and Hooch are of the same mind-set ... but we're working on it

Beloz, you should wear your undies on the outside this week, sounds like a superwoman job you're doing with a child and a dog in tow ...
