I too understand your feelings Dogman. But doesn't anyone give a damn about my favourite animal... the sheep. Lamb of course is a favourite in the meat industry. Lamb... as in A BABY SHEEP!!! I'm just saying that if you guys didn't put your personal feelings (your best friend other than humans - the dog) to cloud you judgement. We'd be think of theis the same as beef or pork. MEAT! No I do not eat meat but they can do the hell they want. If we treated all animals the same we'd all be vegetarians. But we are not! To them, dog is but another meat. To us a member of the family. To some kangaroo is a lovely meat. To some it is a beautiful native animal of Australia that should be under the protection of the law.

PS As a female,, Dogman try not to use the sexist term man's best friend. Without female there can be no male.

"Man's best friend" is just a traditional term. Like "mankind". There is no sexist intention behind it at all and it is not anyone's fault that the dictionary is full of terms like that that have their origins in a different culture. I am female, but rather allergic to over-vigilant political correctness.

And all of the comments on this video where about the cruelty used in killing the animals. It has already been established that it doesn't really matter what animals are killed for meat, but it does matter how they are raised and killed.

I would rather eat meat from a kangaroo that has lived its life in freedom than from an animal that has been kept in captivity all its life. To me it is way more about the life the animal has had than about some sentimental attachment to a some types of animals. The latter I find slightly hypocritical, personally.

I also tend to eat more chicken (free-range) than any other meat because it is more environmentally friendly. And pork because surprisingly, pigs don't contribute nearly as much to global warming than cows or sheep do.

Man's best friend is no more sexist than "man made" mankind" or my user name "Dogman".

Totally agree, it's all a matter of perspective. Although some meats are definitely healthier than others, so it could be argued dog meat is worse because it comes from a predator.

I don't think you're going to be able to stop people from using that expression.
