    Default sprinkler nana

I was wondering how to cure Maggie of trying to move/ eat/attack the sprinkler so I can water without locking her inside.
I tried turning it off every time she went to bite it but it rapidly became a game as far as she is concerned.

Lol if you find out let me know too! Harley is obsessed with any kind of water! We have to put him away when we need to use the hose which makes him cry and carry on cause he is missing out.

There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face.

    LOL i reckon it's incurable !!!
I've got 2 of the water obsessed freaks.........like straight in the face fulll bore and just loves it !!!

Here's what i do. Ditch the sprinkler and do it all by hand.

Water the plant until water obsessed freak arrives on scene. Then turn 180 degress and water whatever is the futherest away.

When pain in the arse arrives again you need to turn 180 again and water original plant for the 3 seconds it takes for the annoying slobering water muts to return once again.

Repeat this step, over and over till either all the watering is done or till someone else walks outside and leaves a door open. This will guarantee you your wet muts will bolt inside straight away and leave you in peace to finish watering and thinking about why the hell you ever thought 2 giant dogs was a good idea !! LOL...

I'm jealous of your sprinkler/hose obsessed dogs! Mine will hide when I even just pick up the hose. If she would play with the sprinkler/hose, I wouldn't have to take her for a swim in the pond to cool her down in summer.

But yeah, I can see how it can get annoying too. lol

Im so glad we no longer are on water restrictions. I can fill that paddling pool up daily now. Which means, i have to just aim, and they take it in turns to get really wet, biting the hosed water, then it gets a little zoomy, so they beat the crap out of each other, before collapsing in a heap on the lawn, spooning and cleaning each others ears, NOISILY.

Having sighthounds chasing the hose or sprinkler is pretty normal. I enjoy it while it lasts, great game for wearing them out and most grow out of it.

We have a metal sprinkler on a spike (pushed into ground) so that our latest youngster can't move the sprinkler around. I just have to remember to close the back door so he doesn't come in soaking wet.

Frosty loves chasing the hose too.

I premack it - she has to do what I want before I will make the hose fun. If it's not moving - for her, not so much fun. So she has to hold a sit stay, and she can't bite my hand - ie she tends to end up going for the source of the water (OUCH). If she can't - we stop moving tho I don't necessarily turn it off. I also use it to send her over there, while I water over here - but that's not as effective cos she can chase back and jump on the stuff I'm trying to water - nearly as fast.

She doesn't find the shower head type water as much fun as the jet water though - so you could try a different hose end.
