    Default dog boarding sydney

    hey all,

im going away over new years for 6 days and was wondering what your thoughts ae on boarding kennals?

my brother will be home while im away, but he is having a party at home, and without me being there i dont like the idea of jonah staying home with the potential for broken glass, pissed idiots, and bottle caps everywhere..... my brother would never do anything intentionally to harm him, but there may be someone else who isnt as dilligent at teh party.

so to avoid that situation, im looking into kennals.

any reccomendations, cost isnt really a problem if i know that he is getting the best care, and having fun.

    cheers.

Mate...i had to use a kennel for the first time about a month a go and then again just a week a go.....just a few tips i found worked. I'm no pro of course..anyway, make the drive to the kennels a fun trip and then be prepared to just hand over your dog quickly so sneek in a quick cuddle in the truck before ya go in. And see if they have options for daily walks.....baths....free run time....piped music (i $h!t you not dude )...etc.each costs a few extra $$. Take your own dry food or discuss the menus before ya go in. I took in my own dry just so they still had somthing familiar going on. They seemed to love it and dragged me into the place for thier second visit so that has to be a good sign. And suss out pick up times...somtimes it just easier to leave them in a extra night than try and rush your trip home because some shut at like 4.30pmish....

Oh and be prepared to be mauld and licked to bits when ya pick him up !!!

Have a good trip mate. I had no idea that gay cruisers went for 6 days.!!!....Stay safe......Man your gunna be sore when you get back.

I highly recommend Von from In My Home Dog Minding, it's where my puppy owners go.

    I also recommend Calabash Kennels.

I take Frosty to one of two - depending if I'm away during fire season or not... both were recommended by friends. She had an absolute ball - she loves meeting new dogs and people. And when I went to pick her up - she didn't know if she wanted to stay or go. Eek.

If you have any dog specific instructions - put them in writing. I have a new one for next time - visual tummy checks for rash - every day. Cos she's not going to itch at it when you're looking. I don't know how she got that sneaky - she just is.

Von (in my home dog minding) is a friend of mine. I have stayed with her a few times and can totally recommend her. She will also do pick ups and drop back any dogs in Sydney. She also does greyhound rescue and horse rescue.
If I lived in the Sydney area, my dogs would be minded by her. Dogs sleep on her bed with her if they want to or in their beds, on couches, whatever they prefer.

When I was there last, 3 dogs, (one of hers and 2 boarders) wanted to spend the night with me, so they did.

Any posts made under the name of Di_dee1 one can be used by anyone as I do not give a rats.

thanks for the advice guys...... its freaking hard as to find good kennals at this time of year, for a male, entire staffy....... turns out kennals discriminate....... i can see why, but its shithouse when youve never had an issue with dog aggression......

Steve Courtney at K9pro might be able to recommend someone who will look after your dog - or you might be able to find a favourite breeder (your breeder?) who would.
